Why do people have X's in their name? Your not Original!
Why do I use improper grammar twice in my thread title and offensive statements in my message?!??!

as far as I know
X name X is a sign of being straight edge or smth, but probably, that's not the reason to have people doing so

I did it because the naming system requires 2 words. A space and X makes two words. A lack of originality to create a second word, yes, but I tried adding a word describing the profession. I didn't like it much.

If someone took your name on a forum or in a game that has been your online persona for a long time, or you are a copycat and want a name that has been taken, you can put X or x or | or something to get your name anyway. I don't think anyone besides a nub thinks it actually looks cool.

The amount of people that go out of their way to add them to their names intentionally is probably quite small. As was stated, people use additional symbols to make an 'already in use' name usable. Sometimes because they have a dire love for a less mainstream name, but obviously not original enough to be unused, and sometimes because of a desire to imitate something more popular, such as Legolas, which is apparently insanely popular in games with elves.
Alternately, some are intentionally choosing names to annoy other people, because they enjoy seeing the impact they can have. For those individuals, doing anything but ignoring them is going to feed the flames.

I'm more annoyed when monks make their names like "I Smite Not Heal" or... "I Cant Heal" than when people add an "X" in their names. :P

I see many people that have something to do with "failing" in their name. My para's name is "I Fail At Cooking"
There's also stuff like... Fails at healing, but that person's warrior or a derv or whatever.

I use I's in one of my characters name as the first and last letter. The crazy thing is how i got the name. I wanted the name so I tried it but I couldn't get it cuz someone else already had it. So I decided to add that name to my friends list. Heres the crazy part, that person was already on my friends list and he was a good friend of mine. Both of us were so amazed lol, what were the chances if this happening. Guess that name was meant for me lol.

Yes, I too detest people who use irrelevant letters! In fact, I hate anyone who's ever used a vowel in their character name! I despise you, you conformist communists!

By "using vowels" you mean something like Oo Johnny Oo right? Cuz if it's just vowels (John Johnson) pretty much everyone's hated by you. Only ones you don't hate are bots who have names like Nnnnnnnnnn Llllklkklklk
